   Dear CMul students

As I told you at the beginning of this semester, the Multimedia
Communication course will include a self-assessment component in the
final score of the project.

To participate in this process, each student (not each paper as
different members of the same group may make different estimates) should
provide to a previously identified student representative, his/her
‘estimate’ of the score for his/her project. *I will have NO access to
the student score estimates until late in the process. *The scores
should be on a 0-20 scale, only integer values.*

*  This year you should send your score estimates to Ricardo Raseth at
ricardo.raseth at ist.utl.pt no later than Monday, May 18.* Obviously, you
should NOT send any score estimates to me as this will break the process
for you.

While participating in the self-assessment process may only bring
gains to the students, those who will not send any score estimation to
Ricardo by the defined deadline will be excluded from this process.

After having my own scores, I will meet with Ricardo to check the
score similarities. At this stage, the students which estimated score is
the same as my score will get a bonus of 1 point in the project score.
The students which estimated score is ± 1 point regarding my score will
get a bonus of 0.5 points in the final project score.

While it may sound strange to you, every year a very large percentage
of the students get a bonus.

   Regards
                                                             Fernando
Pereira
