Tomorrow, on November 13th, 2024, will have the 3rd session of 
"Whatabouts at IT-Lx" with João Ribeiro (IT -IST) presenting "The 
whatabouts of secret lives of error-correcting codes."

_Error-correcting codes enable reliable data transmission across noisy 
communication channels. Less obviously, error-correcting codes have also 
found many important applications that have nothing to do with 
correcting errors. In this talk, I will discuss a biased selection of 
such applications._

We encourage everyone to participate, including MSc and PhD students.

Each meeting will offer a platform to researchers to share their group's 
activities, discuss recently approved projects, present PhD plans, or 
explore new ideas with the community.

The format is informal, with the presentation style and topics chosen by 
the presenter.

Event Details:

- When: Every second Wednesday of the month at 14:00h

- Where: 11th floor (north tower) meeting room

- Format: ca. 30-minute talk followed by a 15-minute discussion

- Extras: coffee or tea for everyone will be provided

- For those outside of the IST Alameda campus, please respond to this 
e-mail asking to recieve a zoom link.
