[Cmul_merc] About the CMul Labs

  Dear CMul Students

  As you may know, this week we had the last CMul lab session and, from 
now on, we will only have practical lectures on the Tuesday slot (no 
Monday lab slot anymore).

  I have to confess that I was disappointed with the poor preparation of 
the lab by many of you, who openly recognized to have gone to the lab 
without any preparation, not even a quick read of the lab guide. 
Naturally, this strongly negatively impacts the efficiency of your 
learning process. Fortunately, there were also some of you who 
appropriately prepared the lab sessions.

  As you may remember, contrary to past years, this year the student 
representatives asked me to score the lab forms that you delivered me at 
the end of the lab sessions with a final score weight of 10%.

* I come here to announce you that I will NOT score the lab forms for a 
question of fairness among the students*. In fact, while the Monday lab 
session was just before the theoretical lecture and I had to push the 
students out of the lab to go to the next lecture, the Tuesday lab 
session was after the theoretical lecture implying that many students 
were staying in the lab long after the end of the allocated time. Under 
this circumstances, it would be unfair to score the lab forms as they 
were not produced under the same conditions by all students.

* In this context, the 10% of the final score that were allocated to the 
lab score will be moved in equal shares to the project and final exam 
scores, meaning that the project and final exam weights will be, 
respectively, 35% and 65%.*
